Manager of Alumni Affairs

memoryBlue will help hundreds of people launch high-tech sales careers this year alone – and most of these highly motivated individuals will go on to join our alumni base of 600+ passionate former employees.

This extended group consists of high-achieving professionals who completed our intense sales development program and now hold key sales positions within the high-tech industry.

We have only scratched the surface when it comes to engaging this pivotal audience, and we’re looking for the person who can’t wait to take over and massively scale our efforts.

The Role:

We’re looking for a motivated, energetic professional to electrify this important audience through dynamic special events, prestigious awards programs, strategic outreach and more in an effort to cement their foundational connection with memoryBlue. Increasing alumni engagement creates a tangible array of benefits for both the alumni and the company itself.

As the Manager of Alumni Affairs, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Strategically plan, implement, and promote alumni award programs and special events (local/regional) that support memoryBlue’s marketing efforts to engage a critical and growing audience
  • Maintain regular communication with alumni via direct contact, social media channels, electronic newsletters, alumni web pages, print publications and more
  • Oversee the installation of, and grow, an online alumni platform as the main source of information and engagement for alumni, as well as other online alumni engagement tools (social media, etc)
  • Ensure accurate and complete alumni database records, capture contact, biographical and career information of alumni via surveys, projects (e.g. alumni directory), print and electronic correspondence, and web site
  • Partner with internal departments to spearhead regular alumni involvement and appearances at staff events (e.g. hosting quarterly fireside chats, town halls, in-person Alumni of the Year Award Ceremony, and more)
  • Serve as the in-house contact person for alumni, existing staff, leadership and others interested in information, services, and programs related to alumni
  • Establish and build relationships with alumni, locally, regionally, nationally (and internationally) as appropriate

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in alumni relations, alumni development, community relations, non-profit membership engagement and/or a related field
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Demonstrated prior experience planning, promoting and executing special events from start to finish
  • Some travel required (up to 25% of the time)

Preferred Qualifications

  • The demonstrated ability to strategize, implement, and build constituency/community outreach programs and activities
  • Flexibility and initiative, as well as the ability to work independently, combined with the skills for thriving in a team environment
  • Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail and prioritization to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with social media platforms preferred (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Snapchat, TikTok)
  • High drive to succeed with a strong bias for action
  • Experience with CRM software (Salesforce), Marketing Automation Platforms (Hubspot), Microsoft Office Suite, CMS Systems (WordPress) and Alumni Engagement Platforms (any) a plus
